Scholarship Details

RightCounsel is proud to announce this year’s scholarship, which will award a deserving law school student demonstrating a commitment to improving the accessibility of law and academic excellence. This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student to help support his or her educational endeavors.

Applicants must submit an original essay not exceeding 2,000 words discussing how specific technological innovations can improve accessibility to the legal system for the public. The essay should address any ethical implications for implementing the technology. Some potential problems facing consumers of legal services applicants might want to consider include: streamlining the small claims process; improving form submission or filings; or managing case status updates.

Eligibility

Any law school student currently enrolled in good standing in an accredited law school is eligible to apply (please submit a transcript along with your essay submission for verification). All applicants must provide their full name, email address (preferably law school email address), and phone number.

Deadline

The 2018 deadline for the scholarship is November 16, 2018, by 5:00PM PST. Please email all submissions to scholarship@rightcounsel.com. The winner will be notified the by email by December 14, 2018.

Submission Terms & Guidelines

Submissions will be judged according to the originality of the essay subject matter, clarity of exposition, and the applicant's academic performance. All submissions must be original, authored by the scholarship applicant, and not subject to the rights of any party. Content submitted will become the property of RightCounsel upon submission. All applicants grant RightCounsel permission to post the winning applicant's name, school, photo, and essay on RightCounsel's website or other media.
